About Us

Welcome to our little slice of Eagle Creek, Oregon, nestled in the scenic beauty of western Oregon. We are the Platz family, and we'd like to share a bit about who we are and what makes our lives so unique. ​     Our home is more than just a place; it's a sanctuary where we've woven strong bonds of love and togetherness. Within our family, you'll find Mike, a highly skilled structural engineer, and Jami, the heart and soul of Platz German Shepherds. Together, they also run a business that specializes in creating building plans for custom homes and light commercial projects. Jami's passion for breeding German Shepherds and her design expertise add a unique touch to our family's pursuits. ​     Mikey, our oldest son, is currently pursuing his engineering dreams in college, following in his father's footsteps. Meanwhile, Ayla, the second-born, is on the cusp of completing her high school journey, fueled by her deep passion for horses. Our youngest, Celesta, is an avid reader, writer, and artist, filling our home with her creative energy. ​     To us, family extends beyond human members. Oddie (Odin Woodrow) became our first German Shepherd when Mikey was in middle school, and three years later, Maggie (Schone Margarete) joined our ranks. They're more than just pets; they're treasured members of our family. In our commitment to their well-being, we raise all our dogs and puppies within the comfort of our home, ensuring they're integrated as beloved family members.  Our land is also home to a menagerie of horses, Nigerian Dwarf goats, and a lively flock of chickens, who each contribute their unique charm to our daily lives. ​     When we're not immersed in our professional pursuits or spending time with our beloved animals, you'll often find us on horseback, exploring the natural beauty of Oregon. Sunday dinners with grandparents are a cherished tradition, allowing us to connect with our roots and keep family ties strong. Above all, we revel in the simple joy of spending time together, whether it's gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories, or just enjoying the peaceful serenity of our home. ​     Thank you for taking a glimpse into our lives.
